The Seekonk River is normally host to several regional regattas each year: the Mayor’s Cup and the Sweeps and Sculls, hosting multiple classes of boats (Click the links above for details). All sprint races are held on a straight 2000m six lane racecourse which finishes in front of the boat club. Race distances range from 1000m, 1500m and 2000m.
Races on the “Konk” are held in tidal waters which means morning races could be with the tide and afternoon races against the tide or visa versa. We have conveniently linked to local tide charts to help you understand what to expect.
