Competitive Rowing
NBC is home to many rowers who compete on a regular basis and who train together for races. You don’t need to race in order to train with the group! Our competitive program is informal but structured. Workouts are primarily geared toward masters rowers, but all are welcome to join. Workouts are hard, and rowers must be able to row hard for an hour or more before joining the group.
There is no formal coaching, but a great deal of informal coaching between members, and a workout plan is available to all.
Group workouts take place at 5:30 am on Mondays and Wednesdays and 6:30 am on Saturdays. Saturday is race practice: sprints during sprint season, and our own intramural Head of the Seekonk during head season. Every other day of the week is open rowing at that time (for group boats, there is a sign-up sheet for the 5:30 – 7 am time slot).
