NBC Ranks 3rd Overall in Medal Winning at 51st Head of the Charles

Boston & Cambridge, MA/October 16-17: The cold and blustery weekend at the Head of the Charles produced a tremendous number of medals for the Narragansett Boat Club. So many that our small little club ranked 3>rd in medal count of the 768 clubs entered. This year there were 10,461 athletes rowing in a total of 2,241 boats. All of them rowing up that narrow, serpentine course. Congratulations to all of our NBC scullers and rowers who competed in this event! Special congratulations to our first place winners: Dan Gorriaran and Mike Smith, who have now won their event 14 times; Corlis Gross, who disguised herself as a CBC sculler; Eliza Kallfelz, who has had an incredible year as a “novice” sculler. In addition, congratulations to the top echelon of sculling results by Peter Wilhelm’s youth scullers as well as the work of all of the Masters scullers show the strength of work that you all have done on the Seekonk throughout the year. Thank you, Dan for persistently and positively pushing the training levels!
