Eric and John Take First at the Housatonic

Shelton, CT/October 11: Racing at the Head of the Housatonic, Eric Watne and John Cotter were the best of 20 other boats in the Men’s Master Doubles. Kit Wise and John Duke placed 5th in the same event. The four of them then hopped into a quad to place 2nd in the Mens Master Quad event. They had the fastest time, but got eeked out by a 70-year old quad that had piles of seconds taken off for their age handicap.

Alden Bumstead and Sarah Cussler did well, too, placing second of 15 entries in the Women’s Master Doubles. Michael Meneses improved his performance by placing 5th of 12 scullers in the Open Singles. David Gray took 3rd place in the Master Singles. Thanks to Eric for providing this information! You’ll be able to find more precise times by going to or
